Today we are creating warm winter outfits through the magic of layering! The purpose of layers in winter is to create warmth but also to allow us, as midlife women, to shed the layers when the hot flashes hit or when the temperature rises, both indoors and outdoors. Plus, layers creates depth and interest in our outfits without adding belts, hats, prints, excessive jewelry, etc…which ends up making us look less like a fashionista and more like a FLAMINGO. 😆
How to Get Started:
As midlife women, we often find ourselves with a closet full of clothes but struggle to put together warm and stylish outfits for the winter season. The key to creating a well-coordinated wardrobe lies in organizing our closet strategically. Start by categorizing your items, grouping them by type such as tops, bottoms, and outerwear. Within each category, arrange your clothes by color, starting from light to dark. This will make it easier to visualize and pair different pieces. As you lay your wardrobe items in the closet, consider layering. Begin with a foundation of basic essentials like turtlenecks, long-sleeved tops, and cozy sweaters, and build upon them with statement pieces such as scarves, cardigans, and blazers. By creating a visually appealing arrangement and keeping your winter essentials within reach, you’ll be able to effortlessly put together warm and stylish outfits for any occasion. Remember, it’s all about mixing and matching to create new looks while utilizing the pieces you already have!
I am barely 5’1 with a 26” inseam and generally wear size 4P. All items fit TTS (true to size) unless otherwise stated.
