Come along with me on our Napa Valley Vacation for Day Four – our final day here!
Just to give you a little background on our trip, I am a lawyer by trade. But during the COVID lockdowns, I completed a wine sommelier certificate course. I am currently at Level 3 out for a total of 4 levels.

Napa Valley Vacation – Day Four Vlog:

Nickel & Nickel Winery
We started the day at Nickel and Nickel Winery for a Cabernet Terroir tasting: seven Cabernet Sauvignon wines grown at seven different vineyards, seven different soils, and seven different climates. This side-by-side tasting was a real treat and impressed even this wine snob.
We are wine club members here but we were not able to tour the grounds the last time we visited due to construction. So this year I was happy to take the full tour, including the wine caves and reception barn.
Nickel and Nickel also has an equine rescue program and the horses live on property. I was saddened to hear that two of the horses I met on my last visit had passed away…but happy to meet a new addition to the herd.

Lunch at Brix
It’s not a trip to Napa without at least one meal at Brix. I ordered the Spaghetti Bolognese as I always do…and it did not disappoint. I was more than pleasantly surprised with the pumpkin cheesecake dessert though…delish!
Plan on taking a stroll through the gardens out back at Brix – always a lovely view.

Far Niente
The final stop of our Napa vacation as Far Niente…and we saved the best for last. Original Proprietors Gil and Beth Nickel owned a plant nursery before coming to Napa and the breaktaking landscaping reflects their previous profession. Seriously, the estate feels like a movie set.
We are wine club members here so we skipped the tour and opted for a tasting my the lake in the fresh air. This was the last day of good weather in Napa before the rain arrives. Always a spectacular sip and swirl experience, we left with yet another Far Niente bottle to add to our collection.
