When people ask how we have 22 years from oldest to youngest child, my answer is simple: Fiji. 🇫🇯

Yup, it’s Travel Tuesday and today we are talking FIJI!
My husband and I had been together for 10 years when we boarded the plane for Nadi – no baby. After a VERY long flight, we were incredibly grateful that our travel agent booked us a garden day suite at the Raymond Burr estate. A jet-lagged nap and an afternoon in the actor’s luscious gardens were just what we needed to ease us into island life.

From there, we boarded a small prop plane for Yasawa Island Resort. This luxurious island resort featured elegant island bures nested amongst the palm trees with privates beaches.

Each day, the resort would take us to a private island and drop us off for a few hours with an umbrella, snorkel gear, and a picnic basket. These day trips with just me and my love – no other humans in sight. The things that romance movies are made of.
And yes, the water really is that vibrant.

Funny story. The resort offered an excursion to the cave where the movie “The Blue Lagoon” was filmed. The resort guide informed us there there was a small area where we would be required to dive down through a hole in the cave but another person would be on the other side to pull us up. But he added, “The cave will not allow a pregnant woman through – the cave will spit her out!” We laughed at this story. But at the last minute, I chickened out at the thought of having to dive down through a hole in dark water.
Within a few weeks of arriving home from Fiji, we realized mako masks and Fijian pearls weren’t the only souvenirs we brought home…🤭💙
