Today I am showing you how to take casual jeans and style them into an elegant outfit.
By far and away, jeans outfits are the most frequent outfit request that I receive from our community. But how does one take an otherwise casual wardrobe piece like denim and make it *elegant*? Start by pairing the denim jeans with a top made of luxury fabric like cashmere, angora, satin, or silk. Next, pair the outfit with a small heel to give a little “lift” to the look. And finish off the outfit by pairing it with a haute handbag. You don’t have to break the bank on a designer handbag – two of the bags I am showing here are under $100!

Step Two: Pair a Top Made from Luxury Fabric
To offset the otherwise casual denim, pair with the jeans a top made of luxury fabric like cashmere, angora, silk, or satin. All of the tops I’m showing in these photos are under $100…you don’t have to break the bank to look elegant! (Notice that NONE of the tops I am showing here require tucking the shirt…these are all untucked elegance!)

Step Three: Add a Small Heel to Add “Lift” to the Look
Flat shoes convey a more casual look while heels add an air of elegance to any outfit. You don’t have to wear a stiletto though! Just a small heel or kitten wedge will do the trick.

Step Four: Finish Off the Look with a Haute Handbag
Again, you don’t have to break the bank with a designer handbag. Two of the handbags I am showing here are under $100. A “quiet luxury” or “old money” handbag adds elegance to any look.
