“I have nothing to wear…” Oh darling, but YOU DO! Let’s dig around in your closet and see what we can find…
OUTFIT FORMULA:
Black Tank + Black Pants + Layer = LENGTHENING x SLIMMING
I was a math kid so let me explain. Today’s basic outfit formula starts with a black column base look: black top + black pants. Column dressing, or wearing the same color top and bottom, creates a lengthening illusion. Although I try to stay away from black in summer (we wear so much of it in winter), I chose black for today’s outfits because it also creates a slimming effect. Hence, a black column base outfit multiplies lengthening times slimming!

Step Two: Find Your Layering Piece
Once your get your black column base items chosen, then start digging around for any of these items to layer over top:
- Blazer
- Cardigan
- Sweater
- Button Up Shirt
- Poncho
- Wrap
- Kimono
Step Three: Accessorize
After you choose your layer, then take a look around your existing wardrobe for items to potentially accessorize your look:
- Shoes
- Handbags
- Necklace
- Scarf
- Jewelry
And then just play around with those layers and accessories…you might come up with an outfit you really love without having to buy anything new!
