Midlife Ladies: Yesterday, I posted that I fight the midlife weight gain by eating healthy “all the time.” Let me clarify what that means.

I follow the 80/20 principle. That means that I eat healthy 80% of the time and then eat whatever I want within reason 20% of the time. This maintains a healthy balance for me.

So let’s put that in practice: we eat at home 5 to 6 days a week and then we eat out 1 to 2 days a week. When we eat at home, I cook healthy meals. And because I live 20 miles from the grocery store (40 miles round-trip), I’ve had to get very good at either finding healthy recipes or coming up with my own recipes. There are no crazy diets on our house – this is just how we eat.

So if you would like recipes for meals like these and more tips on staying in shape and eating healthy during the midlife years, go to MidlifePoshCloset.com and SIGN UP FOR THE NEWSLETTER. I will send you at least one new healthy and easy recipe a week and sometimes even an entire meal plans to keep you on track. This week’s email newsletter will feature healthy GAMEDAY recipes! Bon appétit!
