  1. Loved the makeup video, Valerie!
I have pink undertones, my hair is that perfect blend of white with dark scattered throughout.
My eyebrows are more white than dark, so what color of eyebrow gel would you suggest for those of us who decided to go with natural hair color rather than coloring our hair every 4-6 weeks?

    1. Thank you so much! Depending on your skin and the dark tones in your hair, I would go between the Dark Brown and Brown Black in the Merit Brow 1980. This was one of my favorite products Merit because of the feathery consistency rather than the drawn-on harsh line that most brow products create.

    1. I still refer Seint to Merit. Seint provides a full coverage luminous finish. Merit provides a medium coverage dewy finish.

  2. After watching the video I happened to be going to the mall so I looked at the Merit products at Sephora. As expected, I was quickly “assisted” by a makeup artist (she was clear that her skills went beyond being a sales clerk but she would take time for me). First, according to her, my skin was crying out for moisture and I was spritzed with a spray oil. Next my colors were analyzed with a fancy computerized tool that rested on my forehead and cheek, and it was determined I was Dune in the foundation stick which seemed too dark for me for my preference. I pointed out two blush colors asking if either was a good choice and she picked one and said “perfect.” I impulsively bought the blush and the spray oil (a different brand). By the time I reached my car my face was an oil slick, the blush had disappeared, and my initial analysis of the foundation being too dark was correct. The fragrance in the spray gave me a headache. I will be returning the two items I bought. Valarie – you were right on target about the sales pressure and the dewy finish of the products. They are lovely but my face sweats way too much in South Florida for this line. If I move to the north (as we are contemplating), I will give them a try. Your honesty is remarkable and appreciated.

    1. This is EXACTLY what I was talking about. On YouTube, another former Estée Lauder artist commented and said the same thing. We were under so much pressure to SELL SELL SELL rather than listening to what the customer really needs. This is downright disgusting and I’m sorry to hear this! Know that I have your best interest at heart here. And FYI, we are contemplating selling our home in the Keys as well and staying north.

  3. Love all your videos! You look lovely.
Have you ever tried Laura Geller foundation? I just ordered before receiving this video.

    1. I was looking at Laura Geller last night, but it’s liquid and powder foundation. In my 30+ years of experience in makeup, cream foundation is best for midlife skin. Liquid foundation settles into fine lines, pores, and creases. Powder foundations accentuate those areas as well. Meanwhile, cream foundations sit on top of fine lines, pores, and creases which minimizes their appearance. That is why I only recommend cream foundations to midlife women. (And when I say cream, I don’t mean B.B. cream.)

      1. I have been using Jones Road or Laura mercier for a while (tinted moisturizer) because I liked the “dewey” result, but I do think it exaggerates wrinkles
