Hello Gorgeous!

As we age, our bodies go through various changes, and for many women, one common struggle is dealing with a midlife tummy. While it’s completely natural and nothing to be ashamed of, it can sometimes be a challenge to find clothing that flatters and accommodates this area. But fear not, midlife women, because with a few styling tips and tricks, you can look and feel fabulous all summer long.

So if you are a woman over 40, woman over 50, woman over 60, woman over 70, or woman over 80, read on!

But let me be clear about one thing: you do NOT have to tuck your shirt to be stylish. Tucking shirts in the midsection creates bulk, is time consuming, and sometimes downright uncomfortable. (I mean, does anyone really *like* retucking their shirt every time they go to the bathroom?!)

Today I am showing you FIVE MORE styling options for the midlife tummy for Spring Fashion 2024, none of which require tucking your shirt. Which outfit is YOUR favorite: 1 2 3 4 5?

Let’s get started!

Belted  Blouse

A blouse with a belt at the waist is great for covering the midlife tummy while also creating a little definition at the waistline.  Here, I am wearing an affordable white eyelet top that ties at the waist. I paired it with slimming neutral wide-leg crop pants – the wide leg accentuates the definition at the waistline and creates an hourglass silhouette.  Finally, I finished off the outfit with a pair of brown block heels and a brown and canvas handbag to create interest.

Next, I styled a black belted top with the same neutral wide-leg crop pants.  As in the previous outfit, the belt at the waist creates definition in the midsection area while the wide leg of the crop pants creates an hourglass silhouette. I finished the look with cork wedge kitten heels and a sleek black designer handbag.  This is an outfit that can be worn to lunch or the office!

Tie Waist Top

A blouse that ties at the waist is a viable alternative to tucking a shirt for midlife women.  Tying or knotting the top at the waist eliminates the bulk created by tucking.  Here, I styled a simple blue chambray tie top with white linen joggers and white sport sandals for a coastal casual summer outfit.

Faux Knot Top

I have yet to find an official fashion definition or category for this blouse, but it is a lightweight fabric with short sleeves that is meant to be worn untucked.  The fabric is slightly gathered at the midsection, giving it the allusion of being tucked…without actually tucking the shirt and creating bulk in the tummy area.  At any rate, I absolutely love the navy color, especially when paired with neutral ankle pant, neutral wedge “running heels”, and a neutral designer handbag.  This is a fabulous summer business casual outfit or summer office outfit!

Faux Wrap Blouse

This faux wrap blouse covers the midlife tummy while drawing in and creating a definition at the waistline. I paired the buttery color of the blouse with white wide-leg crop pants and strappy heels for a light and airy summer outfit.  The color palette is so feminine and appropriate for summer and spring.

Summing It Up…

Remember, the most important thing is to wear clothing that makes you feel confident and comfortable in your own skin. Embrace your midlife tummy and celebrate all that your body has been through and accomplished. With these styling tips, you can rock your summer wardrobe with ease and grace.

Happy Styling!
