Hello Gorgeous!

Confession: My arms have always been pretty toned. I play golf competitively so I spent a lot of time workout my arms and strengthening them. And when I say strengthen, I mean I lift heavy weights.  But last summer, I was filming a video when I caught a glimpse of my arms in the mirror. And for the first time, I noticed dimples in my arm skin. I WAS HORRIFIED! I thought I would wear sleeveless blouses and tanks forever. I have been rethinking that position ever since. 🙈 But let’s face it: we all get new bodies in the midlife years – whether we wanted that new body or not – and we all have to figure out how to dress around that “New Bod”.

With our global community of midlife women growing rapidly (we are over 600,000 right now), the midlife midsection is the most common problem area when it comes to midlife fashion.  But the dreaded midlife arms are a close second.  It doesn’t matter how much I work my arms, I still have bat wings.  So if you know that feeling, here are some options for Spring Fashion 2024 if you aren’t comfortable showing your arms. This is not an exhaustive list but just some options to think about for Spring Outfits.

  1. Kimono Top / Kimono Dress: this style of top or dress adds coverage to the arm while still allowing air to flow around the arms and cool the skin.  And as an added bonus, kimono tops are also great for covering the midlife belly or midlife tummy.  I am including a dress example below as well.
  2. Flutter Sleeve or Angel Sleeve: This is another style of blouse that covers the upper arm while still allowing air to flow around the arms and cool the skin.  These are easier to find than a kimono top so keep an eye out when shopping.
  3. Diagonal Sleeve: Reasonable minds can debate this option.  Most professional stylists will tell you that sleeves cut at a diagonal angle create a visual illusion with a slimming effect.  But I’ve heard from plenty of you ladies that say it doesn’t work and that is simply not true.  Sooo…I’m just throwing this option out there and let you decide if its a viable option for you.

Overall, each of these outfits below is suitable for women over 40, women over 50, women over 60…and let us not forget our women over 70.  Which outfit is your favorite? Let me know when the comments below!
