I was born in Georgia in April.  While I have had the privilege of playing golf courses around the world, my heart still belongs to the majestic Augusta National Golf Club, home of The Masters.

It may come as a surprise, but it wasn’t until my 50th year that I finally visited Augusta National. While I won’t be attending The Masters, I made the decision to use my money to support women participating in the tournament. Growing up, women were not allowed on the golf course, let alone in the clubhouse. I play competitive golf. So as I celebrate turning 50 this month, I am proud to support the progress of women in golf and women’s golf in general.

In preparation for my trip, I have carefully selected a capsule wardrobe to showcase what I will be wearing at The Masters. Although the forecast has been unpredictable, I have packed an outfit for the tournament, two dinner ensembles, and two travel outfits to ensure I am prepared for any changes in weather.

When attending a golf tournament like The Masters, women over 40 / women over 50 / women over 60 should pack a variety of stylish and comfortable outfits to suit the occasion. Keep scrolling to see my some suggestions for a well-rounded wardrobe:

1. Tournament Day Outfit:

– A classic polo shirt or golf shirt paired with a golf skort, capris, or ankle-length pants in breathable fabrics.

– Comfortable walking shoes.  Personally, I plan on walking ALL 18 holes and seeing every green, every tee box, and every fairway on the course, so my running shoes are the footwear for the day.

– Stylish sunglasses…but skip the wide brim hat.  Buy one at the course as a souvenir.

– A lightweight jacket or sweater for cooler morning or evening temperatures.

– PRO TIP: As soon as we enter any golf tournament, I proceed directly to the merchandise tent and buy a golf towel and tournament visor or hat.  That way I have the visor to protect from the sun, the towel to sit on, and the shopping bag to carry all of my stuff.  Purses – even small ones – are generally not allowed inside the tournament gates…along with cellular telephones.

2. Dinner Outfits:

– Chic and sophisticated dresses, skirts, or pants suits paired with blouses or tops for dinner evening events.

– Elegant sandals or closed-toe shoes for a polished look.

– Accessories such as a wrap or shawl for added glamour.

Crepe Vest Top + Crepe Trousers (Petite Length but still long) + Espadrilles

3. Travel Outfits:

– Casual and comfortable attire for traveling to and from the tournament, such as jeans paired with a blazer.

– Slip-on shoes or rubber sole sneakers for easy airport security checks and long walks.  (As I’ve said before, I do not travel in sneakers.)

Beige Blazer (runs a size small) + Striped Long Sleeve Tee + Jeans + COMFY Rubber Sole Loafters

Summing It Up…

Overall, the key is to strike a balance between style and comfort, ensuring you look polished and put-together while still being able to enjoy a day of golf and socializing. Choose versatile pieces that can be mixed and matched to create different outfits. While you can’t bring in many items into the venue with you, stop at the merchandise tent for a towel to sit on, a hat to wear….and a shopping bag to carry all your gear.

I am barely 5’1 with a 26” inseam and generally wear size 4P. All items fit TTS (true to size) unless otherwise stated.
