This might be slightly controversial…but…it is likely that everything you need to create cool neutral outfits for winter is already in your closet. Shop your existing wardrobe for cool neutral colors like gray, periwinkle, lavender, slate blue, black, and white. Then mix and match those outfits until you come up with chic outfits for winter. You won’t like every combination you put together, but I assure you that you will create at least one outfit that you LOVE.
Why Should I Shop My Closet FIRST?
As midlife women, we have years of accumulated clothing that may have been forgotten or rarely worn. By taking the time to assess what we already have, we can uncover hidden gems and create stylish outfits that reflect our unique personality and sense of style. Shopping our closet not only saves money but also encourages creativity as we find new ways to mix and match our existing pieces. Of course, it is absolutely acceptable to supplement our wardrobe when needed, but starting with our own collection allows us to appreciate what we already own and make more intentional choices when adding new items.
How do I know if I am a warm or cool skin tone?
How can you tell if you are a cool or warm skin tone? Turn your wrist over to the underside:
⁃ If your veins appear blue, you are a COOL skin tone.
⁃ If your veins appear yellow or green, you are a WARM skin tone.
⁃ If your veins appear to be a little of both, then you are a combination skin tone.
