This Fall, we’re embracing the understated elegance of cool neutral colors, which are not only timeless but also incredibly versatile. Midlife women, in particular, have the advantage of knowing their personal style, making it easier to incorporate these cool neutrals into their fall fashion. So, let’s explore how you can elevate your wardrobe with cool neutral tones for fall fashion in 2023.
How do I know if I am a warm or cool skin tone?
How can you tell if you are a cool or warm skin tone? Turn your wrist over to the underside:
⁃ If your veins appear blue, you are a COOL skin tone.
⁃ If your veins appear yellow or green, you are a WARM skin tone.
⁃ If your veins appear to be a little of both, then you are a combination skin tone.

1. Cool grays:
Shades of gray that have a blue or silver undertone can complement cool skin tones beautifully.
2. Navy blue:
This deep, rich color is a great alternative to black for cooler skin tones and can be worn as a neutral base.
3. Soft blues:
Lighter shades of blue, such as baby blue or powder blue, can add a touch of coolness to your wardrobe.
Metallic shades like silver can add a cool and modern touch to your outfits.
5. A Note on White:
I researched this but there is quite a bit of disagreement on what shade of white is most flattering for cool skin tones. Some say a “crisp” white is flattering but avoid bright whites or warm whites. Other sources say that cool skin tones should favor bright whites. So if you are a cool skin tone, you will just have to test out whites against your skin tone and see what looks best on you.
Remember, these are just general guidelines, and personal style and preferences should always be considered when building a wardrobe.
6. Periwinkle Lavender
Periwinkle and lavender colors are lovely on cool skin tones!
