1. The Basics:
You can use any button up cardigan in your closet – it doesn’t have to be gray or even similar to mine.
2. Shop Your Closet FIRST
Dig around in your own closet before you buy anything new. We are looking for a denim jacket, long Coatigan (or coat), midi skirt, black pants, jeans, etc.
3. Mix and Match:
WAIVE YOUR MAGIC wand and see what you can conjure up! Play around with combinations, adding handbags and changing out shoes to see what you come up. You won’t like everything your spell reveals, but you will find at least one outfit that you LOVE.
4. Neutral Color Palette:
I am utilizing a neutral color palette here with gray + black + white + blue denim. (Yes, blue denim is considered a neutral.). I will talk more this weekend about why I switched to a neutral color palette for my personal wardrobe…but I think you get a little hint here about why I did so. Look at how many outfits we can create when we are using a wardrobe from the same general color palette!
The gray button-up cardigan, a seemingly simple piece, proves to be an incredibly versatile and essential addition to any midlife woman’s wardrobe. With its ability to effortlessly mix and match with a range of items that are already in your closet. SHOP YOUR CLOSET FIRST before you hit “add to cart”…but supplement your wardrobe as needed.
