Authenticity

My friend @absolutelylorie posted a good reminder today about being authentic, especially here on social media where we tend to only show the good side of life. Her post reminded me that being authentic creates space to develop relationships – we can’t always relate to someone who only shows their best self and best life.

So here is the authentic me: the one who isn’t 19 anymore. The one who doesn’t have a perfect bikini body. The one who doesn’t have perfectly straight teeth or a gleaming white smile. Nonetheless, I’m comfortable in my own skin and embrace both my flaws and my finer features. (Ya know, it takes some courage to post a swimsuit photo on social media!)
